Starting a new job means more than just celebratory clinks and bubbles! You have just been handed the unique opportunity of creating a new image for yourself. Maybe you’re a recent college grad. Maybe you’re switching careers. Maybe you just need a little retail therapy and want to justify it by getting some new work clothes! Whatever the reason, we know that looking the part for your career is important. It not only sends the right message to your new employer but it can also translate into a deeper confidence that you carry into your work. However, many of the pieces needed for a career-woman wardrobe can add up quickly, especially when you invest in quality pieces. So what’s a girl to do?

Recently we had the privilege of helping a young woman form a brand new wardrobe for her first job out of college. We told her coming to Clothes Circuit was a great decision. Our extensive selection of women’s blouses, slacks, blazers and dresses gave her the ability to form a multitude of outfits that will get her through several work weeks – all at a great price.

wardrobe basics

Here are our 3 key pieces to invest in for your work wardrobe that will allow you to mix and match to form multiple work-appropriate outfits:

  1. A Quality Blazer: A well-fitting blazer will likely become your new best friend. We suggest investing in a neutral color to begin with and change up your blouses, shirts and sweaters you wear underneath for different outfits that will always give off the perception of being well put together.
  2. A Tailored Trouser: A trouser pant that fits in length and is made of a sturdy material. Synthetic fabric is recommended, as these materials will not turn to a big wrinkled mess at the first site of a chair. If wrinkles or snags are not issues in your workplace then cotton or polyester fabrics always look elegant and professional.
  3. LBBD: A LBBD or little basic business dress is the third piece that we recommend throwing into the mix. Again, for versatility purposes, neutral colors and minimal detailing are recommended for these staple pieces. Dress up the dress with your blazer, a belt, scarf, broach or a multitude of other jewelry options here at Clothes Circuit. This will create instant new outfits with each different accessory.

Pairing these three key pieces with our wardrobe basics will quickly give you 2 full weeks of outfits to rotate. You might even make it to a full month of different outfits without repeating once by shopping our floor! We also have amazing sales associates that can help you figure out how to mix and match pieces to stretch your looks- don’t be shy to ask for help!
